'New experience tv advertising at the touch of a button.'
During the 4th and 5th terms of my studies at Furtwangen University, I participated in a group internship in which I and four fellow students conceived and executed a project for a company specialized in online marketing. We were responsible for everything from planning to realization of an interactive shopping platform for a popular german soap opera ('Verliebt in Berlin'). Besides gaining valuable insight into the field of interactive television, I learned the immense value of teamwork and commitment.
Before taking on my role as user experience designer, I analyzed the international market for the field of interactive television and found out about different standards (MHP, IPTV etc.). We then came up with our idea to offer viewers a new advertising experience by featuring articles of clothing worn in the soap opera simultaneously on-screen during the show, thus enabling the audience to order them at the touch of a button. We also created other user scenarios where viewers could sign up via remote-control for upcoming events during TV commercials.
After a couple of months of hard work we presented our flash mockup and detailed documentation of our concept to receive positive feedback from our clients.
